Kongsberg simulator for Norwegian University
Norway’s Aalesund University has upgraded to the use of Kongberg’s new cutting edge simulator technology programme K-Sim Navigation in order to expand its course offering to students and external companies.
K-Sim Navigation is DNV B compliant with an integrated DP2 simulator. It is based on a new technology platform enabling more realistic training scenarios and enhanced user benefits for both instructors and students.
It features a significantly enhanced physical engine and state-of-the-art hydrodynamic modelling allowing vessels, objects and equipment to behave and interact as they would in real life. The new simulation system can be easily integrated with other Kongsberg Maritime simulators to allow a full range of training scenarios.
In addition to upgrading its simulator facility, the college has also taken out a five year long term support programme to ensure ready software and hardware upgrades.
