3Si acquires International Safety Products

ISP will join fellow UK-based companies Ocean Safety and Typhoon International, alongside US based Revere Survival in the group to further complement the growing portfolio of products and services it offers.

Doug Baxter, CEO, 3Si, said that the acquisition of ISP will create one of the world’s leading lifejacket providers and safety product suppliers.

Geoff Billington, ISP commercial director, said the acquisition signalled a new era for ISP which will enable it to continue to ramp up its ambitious expansion overseas.

“Our strong team ethos and attention to customer service have been fundamental in elevating the business to where it is today,” he said.

“Under the 3Si Group ISP can now access an extended customer base enhancing our ability to reach new markets and territories. This provides huge potential for ISP’s unrivalled product offering.”

3Si is a new group backed by August Equity, the owner of Ocean Safety Ltd and Typhoon International and Revere Survival Inc. The group has a large portfolio of marine safety products and services covering commercial, leisure and military markets.

ISP is a marine survival equipment specialist and produces more than 170,000 products each year. It employs more than 100 people and has a turnover exceeding £8m. It manufactures and supplies a broad range of marine safety equipment including lifejackets, immersion suits, tactical waistcoats, liferafts, EPIRBs, PLBs, SARTS and marine safety lights.

As MJ went to press we have also learned that 3Si have furthermore announced the acquisition of Richard Irvin Energy Solutions Marine Safety Division in Scotland, for an undisclosed sum. The Aberdeen based business is a key supplier into the offshore industry with a variety of safety products and services.
