Applied Acoustics extends Easytrak range – by David Goodfellow
Applied Acoustics of Great Yarmouth UK, recent winners of a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade, have extended their range of Easytrak Ultra Short Baseline (USBL) tracking systems with development of an Alpha model for small vehicle and basic diver tracking operations.
Designed for monitoring close range subsea targets, the system consists of a desktop command console connected to a submerged transducer and a host PC via a USB port. With its own internal GPS receiver, it automatically calculates a target’s position as well as its range and bearing. Also able to provide hemispherical tracking, it is claimed to be ideal for shallow water applications using small boats in coastal waters, estuaries and lakes.
The portable system is one of four available Easytrak units capable of tracking multiple targets simultaneously.
