Award for Surveyor Training Aid
The International Institute of Welding has awarded Lloyds Register and TWI Ltd the bi-annual Andre Leroy Prize for their computerised non destructive examination (NDE) training aid, in recognition of its excellence as a training tool for Lloyds Register Group surveyors.
The event, supported by the UK Department for Transport (DfT), will take place on 26 February at the Mayfair Conference Centre in London.
The training aid is a multi-media CD-ROM entitled Interpretation of Weld Radiographs and was developed by Lloyd’s Register and TWI Ltd of Cambridge. It is the first such aid to put radiographs into digital format and includes a self-assessment examination.
