Buoyant Sonardyne Scout Sales
Sonardyne of Yateley UK reports strong sales of its Scout USBL (Ultra-Short Baseline) series of acoustic positioning systems, with over 20 units ordered over the last few months. Comprising a range of three models suitable for any size of vessel, the series is designed to make the benefits of the company’ s deep offshore technology available to organisations seeking to accurately track underwater targets in relatively shallow inland and coastal waters.
Two of the models, Scout and Scout Plus, are entry level systems capable of tracking one surface vessel and up to six subsea targets at ranges up to 500m.
A higher specification unit, Scout Pro, provides greater accuracy, additional tracking functions and a 1,000m operating range. Sonardyne says it is particularly suitable for pipeline inspections, AUV tracking and support for offshore construction.
