CEDA turbidity limits working group
The Central Dredging Association (CEDA) Working Group on Turbidity Limits (WGETL) has begun its research.
Turbidity limits are often encountered by the dredging industry around the world and significant resources are used to comply with them. It is important that imposed turbidity limits are optimised to protect the environment. By setting realistic limits, monitoring can be made more cost effective.
The new CEDA working group consists of 13 members representing contractors, consultants, researchers and contract holders. Their task will be to prepare a CEDA information paper on guidelines for assessing and evaluating environmental turbidity limits for dredging. The aim of the paper will be to facilitate knowledge exchange and provide support for legislators and others in setting correct thresholds. The paper is scheduled for publication in June 2019.
