EAPL hosts another evacuation exercise
European Active Projects Ltd (EAPL) has hosted another Mass Evacuation Exercise from its non-tidal ‘wet’ repair berth at Chatham, UK.
A single tower was erected consisting of foundation and separation frames fabricated on-site and seven hired containers. Scaffolders erected staging and a staircase to allow safe access for the 150 volunteers taking part in the exercise.
Berth 5 at Chatham is ideally suited for hosting this kind of exercise. The dock traffic is minimal over the weekend and getting volunteers is achievable, with a number of local colleges and universities close by.
The event took place on Saturday 15 March with Bureau Veritas observing and approving the exercise.
After another successful result, Survitec says it intends to carry further tests from the site in the future.
EAPL will be returning to Mercator Media Ltd’s Seawork International this year. Visit them on stand C99.
