IKEA owner applies to build offshore energy hub

Permits have been applied for by IKEA owner Ingka and OX2 to create an offshore energy hub 50km off the south coast of Sweden.

As well as generating electricity, the plan is also to ‘oxygenate’ the deep water of the Baltic Sea.
