Expansion for Italian startup
An Italian startup that is developing efficient marine propulsion has announced a new expansion plan.
SEALENCE aims to recruit over 30 people in the coming months, following a similar recruitment drive last year which resulted in 26 new hires.
Explaining its work on its website, SEALENCE said: “Our competitive advantage lies in having conceived of the innovations on the fluid dynamic level that have led us to design a propulsion that did not exist before: our DeepSpeed jets.”
60 staff target
The DeepSpeed team plans to reach 60 staff within 2021. People will be hired across R&D, marketing, quality assurance, product certification, and the production and logistics department.
SEALENCE is developing a complete control system platform to control the DeepSpeed jets and guarantee a high-level user-experience with intelligence capable of guaranteeing the safety of the system, maintaining maximum efficiency and managing component redundancies.
For its propulsion system, the company wants to develop onboard charging systems based on the self-production of electricity, and a dashboard that is not just a system for viewing engine or navigation data, but an interface capable of relating the Captain’s needs to the intelligence present on board the DeepSpeed systems.
The company is working on Energy flow management and is working on a recharging system that allows companies to continue to self-produce the energy needed to navigate in a sustainable way on the quay.
