Fast hands don’t delay fast craft delivery

Two Fast Rescue Craft of type 903 were delivered to the Royal Netherlands Sea Rescue Institution (KNRM) last month.

Habbeke was able to delivery the vessels on time despite the theft of equipment

The boats were built in the Netherlands at Habbeke Shipyard to a design from Pieter Meuzelaar of the Dutch Special Marine Group.

The lifeboats will accommodate a crew of four and can carry up to 20 rescued people rescued. The boats have a length of 9.15m, a width of 3.30m and can reach a maximum speed of 34 knots with a Volvo D6-435 engine mated to an Ultra Jet 377 waterjet drive.

Shortly before being handed over the boats were in the Dutch national news due to the theft of all their navigation and communication equipment. However, heroic efforts of the yard enabled the boats to still be delivered to the KNRM on time.
