French renewables event

Thetis MRE, the International Convention on Marine Renewable Energies, will be held on May 20 – 21, 2015 in Nantes, France. This years theme is: MRE, from opportunity to industrial reality.

This is publicised as a free event open to all professionals involved with the energy and maritime sectors, and the flagship gathering in 2015 for the entire MRE sector, from major industrial companies. The organisers promise over 400 exhibitors and 4,000 participants, including 40% from abroad.

The sector stakeholders present will include industrialists, energy experts, major decision-makers, SMEs, engineering firms, research centres, institutional entities, and schools/universities, for a series of conferences, exhibitions, and business meetings.

Olivia de Maleville, managing director for Thetis EMR said: “Following the success of its first three editions, in Bordeaux, Brest, and Cherbourg, France, Thetis MRE continues to grow, and remains dedicated to our goal of providing a united industry event for professionals in the emerging marine renewable energy sector, offering a true platform for exchanging ideas, sharing experience and promoting the MRE sector to ensure that this source of environmentally friendly energy production becomes a positive factor for growth.”

As in 2014, Thetis MRE will host a pre-conference event: on May 19, 2015, the 2nd National Council for Marine Renewable Energies will be organised by the Syndicat des Energies Renouvelables (Renewable Energy Board).
