Dutch survey organisation Geo Plus BV of Scheemda has expanded operations with establishment of a secondary base in the UAE to support its Middle East and North Africa operations.
The company currently maintains a number of multi-purpose shallow water vessels available for charter in the region, all of them designed and outfitted for coastal marine operations. Regional clients already include National Marine Dredging Company (NMDC) and Zadco of Abu Dhabi as well as Van Oord’s Middle East dredging and engineering activities.
Meanwhile, in Holland itself, the company has been using its 35m hybrid vessel Geo Focus to provide Van Oord with survey support during construction of the North Sea Gemini Offshore Wind Farm 85km north of Groningen. The world’s second largest wind farm, Gemini is due for completion later this year and will provide power to an estimated 785,000 households.
