Imtech NV is to acquire the Radio Holland Group BV in a move that will almost double the revenues of its maritime markets to some ?350m while increasing staff to 1,700 people. The acquisition will be formalised after the expected approval of Dutch and German regulatory authorities. Imtech technology is on board an ever growing number of ships but has not had a global service network, a shortcoming that Radio Holland Group''s extensive network will remedy.
He said, 'The present international compensation regime is fairly restrictive as regards compensation to salvors who prevent or minimise environmental damage. There is no prospect of a revision of the 1992 Civil Liability Convention and the 1992 Fund Convention in the near future. However, the law is not static. It develops to take into account political and social changes.
