Lifesaving wipers
UK-based DuroWipers, perhaps best known for supplying the wipers specified on the Shannon class lifeboats for the RNLI, will have a full size demonstration model available to view at this year’s Seawork 2015 event.
DuroWipers will have a demonstration module on their stand at Seawork 2015 and welcome all to take a look at the patented design the RNLI now specify. The stand will demonstrate the company’s patented rotary mechanism and the unique way it transfers the rotary power from the motor to the twin drive shafts equally, creating a reciprocating movement which gives a smooth, powerful and quiet stoke that allows the company to offer a minimum of three years Warranty to customers and Lifetime and extended Warranties to the Royal Navy and the RNLI.
DuroWipers spokesman Noel Gould commented that “Exhibiting at Seawork over the years has gained us the sort of exposure and branding that attracts clients such as the RNLI.”
Exmouth RNLI Station took delivery of their new Shannon class lifeboats in 2014 and Lough Scilly in Ireland is anticipating delivery of theirs later this year. Both have fully installed DuroWiper Pantographs which have the patented rotary transfer box which, according to DuroWipers, gives a remarkable smooth, powerful and reliable performance. This is complemented by the extensive use of AISI 316 Stainless Steel throughout the wiper mechanisms for its durability and anti-corrosive qualities.
