Lightweight self-recovery ladder

“Being invented and manufactured in the UK has meant that we have worked closely with the fishermen to evolve it into what it is today, a unique self-recovery system” said Matthew Adams from CQC.

Mr Adams said that “the ladder is lightweight, great value and requires no servicing making it an easy choice for any single-handed or limited crew vessel”.

The product is based on CQC’s SOLAS approved Emergency Ladder which is a SOLAS approved ‘Means of Embarkation’. CQC’s Fibrelight Emergency Ladder has been accepted by the MCA (UK Flag) to be used on all vessel types. The Emergency Ladders are in use across the world on merchant ships, offshore support vessels, naval ships and super yachts.

The Self Recovery Ladder has been designed as a maritime life-saving device. Pulling an adjustable cord from its ‘burst zip’ bag allows the Fibrelight ladder to descend into the water to allow an overboard user to easily climb back into the vessel without any further assistance.

A 3 metre Self Recovery Ladder weighs only 2.7 kilogrammes and can be deployed in seconds.
