Engineers install floating quays at modern marina

The three new floating quays have been installed by the Portuguese specialist firm Lindley Group, which designs, manufactures, supplies, installs and maintains floating solutions for marinas, docks and fishing ports.

Lindley is headquartered in Cascais, Portugal and has a strong presence in the country. Its core engineering company,  Lindley, specialises in construction, civil engineering and infrastructure. 

“The project stands out for the installation of three new floating quays for 68 berths for vessels between 25 and 55 metres,” says the company. “The project involved the design and manufacture of 104 pontoons built with PFC (Continuous Floating Pontoon) technology in prefabricated steel-reinforced concrete and polystyrene core.”

More than 12,000 metres of electrical cables and pipes had to be installed under the deck of the walkways, as well as the multi-purpose pedestals, mooring bollards and other accessories.

At the same time as the installation activities, outer jetty and basin works had to be done, and during tourist seasons logistics had to be adapted.

According to Lindley, the works had been planned to take 16 months, but they were completed within a year.
