Major Dutch canal works completed by ‘Destiny’

A special workboat called ‘Destiny’ has been instrumental in upgrading and widening more than 60km of canals in the Netherlands.

Marine contractors Van Oord, Hakkers and Beens were hired for the job, which has entailed repling thousands of tonnes of steel sheet piling, dredging, constructing swing basins and avoiding any unexploded ordnance.
