Shorepower switched on in Malta

The Maltese capital of Valletta has inaugurated shorepower at its port, with the MSC World Europa the first vessel to try it out.

Maltese prime minister Robert Abela toured the vessel as the local power grid supplied electricity for the ship at berth, when all engines were switched off.
