MMT ROV services for Shell
MMT of Sweden has been awarded a call-off contract by Shell for provision of ROV services in support of its European operations for the period 2015-18 with options for a further two annual extensions.
The agreement covers a survey programme involving various types of applications, according to MMT CEO Stefan Eliasson, with Shell showing particular interest in the company’s latest Norwegian-designed high-speed ROV featuring dual inspection modes, Surveyor Interceptor.
Claimed to provide significantly improved positioning, data quality and operational efficiencies when compared with conventional subsea vehicles, Surveyor Interceptor has rccently been qualified and used for inspection work on the 106km Knarr gas pipeline in the North Sea on behalf of Gassco AS.
