New Caris development
Established software specialists Teledyne Caris have announced a new survey suite enabling users to process data in near real-time for reduced conversion and processing times, Caris Onboard 1.1.
The Canadian organisation says it has been essentially designed with autonomous operations in mind and will save valuable time, as less interaction will be needed for automated hydrographic activities.
New processes featured include incorporation of the current SIPS backscatter engine, so that backscatter mosaics can now be generated alongside surfaces in near real-time. It is also able to compute GPS tide and apply observed depth and attitude filters in addition to expanding HIPS and SIPS processes available for real-time automation. A new copy process enabling raw data and computed products to be backed up automatically while making it transferrable to portable storage devices is among other main features. All are claimed to improve widely-used automated Caris data workflows in worldwide service with hydrographic authorities and commercial organisations.
