New CEO for Northern Lighthouse Board

The Commissioners of Northern Lighthouses have announced that Mike Bullock MBE took up appointment as chief executive of the Northern Lighthouse Board (NLB).

New CEO for Northern Lighthouse Board

Mike Bullock, 53, has taken early retirement from the Royal Navy in the rank of Commodore to join the NLB. During his naval career of 34 years he had extensive experience both at sea and ashore, serving in a total of six ships and submarines, including the submarine HMS Revenge based in Faslane, the destroyer HMS Liverpool based in Rosyth and the aircraft carrier HMS Illustrious.

He said “I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to become part of the Northern Lighthouse Board team. The rich history of an organisation dating back to 1786 coupled with the very real and pressing modern day requirement to help ensure both the safety of mariners and the protection of the environment by making the seas around Scotland and the Isle of Man as safe as possible is an exciting combination.”
