New TSS gyrocompass range launched
Teledyne TSS of Watford, UK, has extended its Saturn product range with introduction of new fibre-optic gyrocompass models. While specifically designed for commercial shipping, fast ferry and superyacht markets, the compact systems also incorporate attitude reference facilities and are therefore additionally ideal for dynamically positioned platforms and supply of full attitude data for hydrographic survey vessels, the company says.
Saturn 30 and 50 surface models are designed as a solid-state attitude and heading reference system (AHRS) and primary navigation sensor. Lightweight units have no moving parts and are maintenance-free. Higher accuracy versions in surface and subsea housings are also available for offshore construction and multibeam survey applications for provision of highly accurate pitch, roll, heading and heave data.
