Former ​Ørsted CEO takes seat as chair of MacArtney board

Nipper, who was ousted from Ørsted in February just before the energy giant released its annual report, stepped down amid ‘the increasingly challenging situation in the offshore wind industry’, according to board chair Lene Skole.

“The impacts on our business of the increasingly challenging situation in the offshore wind industry, ranging from supply chain bottlenecks, interest rate increases, to a changing regulatory landscape, mean that our focus has shifted,” Skole said at the time.

Rasmus Errboe took over as CEO and is still in place.

Mads Nipper, who has also had leading jobs at Grundfos and Lego, will formally replace outgoing MacArtney Underwater Technology chairman Niels Erik Hedeager after the company’s AGM in January. Hedeager has been at the helm for an impressive 37 years.

MacArtney is a major player in the underwater technology, designing, manufacturing and supplying systems and equipment to the offshore energy sectors, ocean sciences, navies and diving contractors.
