Abu Dhabi Dredging Tender
Aldar Properties in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has invited a total of eight dredging contractors to tender for the dredging and reclamation contract at Abu Dhabis forthcoming Al Raha beach development.
The client for the Rochester Riverside project is Medway Council, working in co-operation with the South East of England Development Agency (SEEDA), and the project will be executed in joint venture with Edmund Nuttall. Work will start in midOctober and will take six months to complete.
The companies are Archirodon, Boskalis Westminster, China Harbour Engineering, Dredging International, Great Lakes Dredge & Dock, Jan de Nul, National Marine Dredging Corporation and Van Oord.
A contract award was expected by end of September, 2005. The contract requires dredging from a ‘borrow area’ of suitable sand offshore and the creation of a new land area of some 450 hectares along an 8km shoreline.
