Mega Trailer Dredging for Shams Abu Dhabi
Royal Boskalis Westminsters mega trailer Queen of the Netherlands has begun dredging and reclamation operations in the waters of Abu Dhabi for Sorouh Real Estates Shams Abu Dhabi project on Reem Island.
The conference will provide an update on progress with WFD implementation, covering hydromorphology, priority substances, the setting of ecological targets (good ecological potential), legal aspects including the implications of the Directive for new development proposals, river basin planning, and sediment management.
Sorouh awarded the dredging contract for Shams Abu Dhabi to Pal Technology with Boskalis Westminster as its subcontractor with Ghantoot Contracting responsible for the rock revetment.
With a massive quantity of sand required for the company’s flagship project, some 4.3 million m 3, the work is expected to last three months.
