The C-Dart system is designed to enhance safety and efficiency in offshore renewable energy projects, reducing operational risks and mooring times.

“Our collaboration with AJT Engineering marks a pivotal step in bringing C-Dart to market,” said Jon Powell, managing director of Blackfish Engineering.

“By combining our engineering expertise with AJT’s world-class manufacturing capabilities, we’re confident in delivering a game-changing solution for the offshore energy sector.”

Operational efficiency

The C-Dart system is a quick connect mooring solution designed to reduce-risk and increase efficiency in mooring processes particularly for floating windfarms, reducing time and risk while ensuring operational efficiency.

As part of this partnership, Blackfish will lead application engineering, while AJT will handle the production and assembly, leveraging their extensive local supply chain and manufacturing capabilities in Aberdeen.

The collaboration will address the growing demand for advanced mooring technologies in both the Scottish and global offshore renewable energy markets.

David Scalley, managing director of AJT Engineering, highlighted the importance of the partnership. “We are excited to collaborate with Blackfish Engineering to support the growth of Scotland’s renewable energy sector through this innovative technology,” he said.

This partnership, backed by key players like Wave Energy Scotland and Scottish Enterprise, is expected to play a crucial role in advancing offshore renewable energy and mooring technologies worldwide.

The partnership announcement was made at the Floating Offshore Wind 2024 Conference in Aberdeen, Scotland.
