Fender maker signals confidence with 3 shows this year

The company will be showcasing its designs for Crew Transfer Vessels (CTVs) and tugs at the International Workboat Show (IWBS), FenderCTV and FenderTug.

FenderCTV is an integrated system of multiple pieces that ‘grips’ the turbine tower when pushing on, with all pieces working together.

At Hamburg on display will be its ‘Windshield’ product, a shield for the wind tower ladders to protect the landing tubes from damage when CTVs move onto them. 

One of the key considerations behind the designs is reducing maintenance costs as well as retaining endurance, using polyurethane fenders made using environmentally friendly production methods and materials, it says.

“Our products are designed to protect CTVs and offshore wind turbines even in the most hostile conditions, ensuring the safety and efficiency of operations,” said Buoyant Works owner Andrew Wickham.

“Our commitment to sustainability is reflected in our latest polyurethane fenders, which are crafted using environmentally friendly production methods and materials. Unlike traditional rubber, our fenders are focused on delivering superior, eco-friendly solutions, that are kinder to the planet.

“The offshore industry is ramping up for sure. I’ve been in the industry for 20 years, and where initially there was demand in the UK and Europe, now it’s ramping up globally.

“We try to do three shows a year, and they’re all slightly different – Seawork is definitely the one for offshore wind and the European market.”
