RAD Propulsion expands with US office

A regular Seawork exhibitor, RAD Propulsion has been building partnerships such as one with Zodiac, of North America, which makes inflatable and rigid inflatable boats (RIBs).

The new office for RAD Propulsion, which in the UK is based in the south of England, will be in Charleston, South Carolina. 

“Establishing a base in Charleston is an important milestone for RAD,” said Simon Payne, Sales director. “It not only strengthens our ability to support customers across North America but also symbolises the growth of RAD as we build a dedicated team in the US to accelerate adoption of our technology.”

RAD’s RADBus drive-by-wire system architecture connects all products, such as the company’s outboard, battery and power console. The RAD 40 outboard puts out 40kW of electric power providing equivalent thrust to a 60 hp petrol outboard, RAD says, with a high torque axial flux motor paired with bespoke propellers for thrust.

Zodiac Milpro, also a regular Seawork and Speed@Seawork exhibitor, has worked with RAD for years.
