Cemex opts for Transas ECDIS
Transas Marine UK in Portsmouth has been commissioned to supply and install its Navi-Sailor 4000 dual ECDIS systems aboard Cemex UK Marines fleet of seven vessels engaged in supplying dredged marine aggregates to domestic and continental European construction industries.
Operating in Northern European waters while also carrying out dredging projects in and around major ports, the 120m Sand Falcon is the first vessel to be equipped with a Navi-Sailor 4000 system, which is capable of providing multiple operation modes with charts in seven different formats.
Cemex UK, which is based in Egham, Surrey, says its remaining vessels will be similarly equipped over coming months as part of a general modernisation programme and consequent shift towards paperless navigation.
