Echo Sounder Sensor
Innovation4C of Belgium has developed Wavemapper, a heave sensor designed for single beam echosounders based on technology used for space applications.
The outcome of a two year research programme, the company says it provides a very cost effective, miniaturised sensor platform which has already been successfully trialed on vessels under various port, harbour and coastal conditions. Featuring a tuning-free heave filter, portable units are available in either dry or wet mode and require no calibration.
