French port commissions
Cadden of Nantes in France, specialist suppliers of electronic systems to domestic hydrographic and oceanographic concerns, is to provide Rouen Harbour and the ferry port of Caen with purpose designed integrated systems for installation on two new survey vessels commissioned by the authorities.
Both assemblies consist of an R2Sonic high-precision multbeam sounder for bathymetric surveys, an inertial motion unit for heading, roll, pitch and heave data and a Differential GPS receiver for positioning. A similar configuration has also been delivered by Cadden for a hydrographic vessel currently operating around the French island of La Reunion in the Indian Ocean. The company, which recently concluded a trade agreement with Fugro, is looking to expand its overseas operations in Africa and Europe over the next two years.
