Marine Electronics Orders

Guernsey-based Marine Electronics reports Chinese and US orders for new titanium and aluminium versions of its Dolphin 6201 Obstacle Avoidance Sonar designed for navigation and pilotage of AUVs and ROVS.

Featuring current developments from the perspective of operators and contractors, they comprise five presentations by leading experts from Fugro TGS, Seebyte, Shell Expro UK and Subsea 7 in addition to a series of latest technical updates by Iicorr Ltd, IMCA (International Marine Contractors Association), Mapix and VisualSoft.

Depth rated to 3,000m, the compact system incorporates a switchable dual-beamwidth transmitter, a forward-looking echosounder, and a 60-element phase receiver array. It is capable of continuously scanning a 90º sector up to 200m ahead of a vehicle while maintaining tracks of rising seabeds; up to 250 sonar targets can be identified.
