Periplus-Rijkswaterstaat framework agreement
Amsterdam based Periplus Group, which specialises in providing construction support work for the oil and gas industries on the Dutch Continental Shelf with in-house processing of hydrographic and geophysical data, has signed a three year framework hydrography agreement with Rijkswaterstaat, the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure & Environment Department organisation responsible for maintenance of waterways and other national confines.
Under the agreement, which also has options for two half-year extensions, Periplus will assume responsibility as and when necessary for the collection and validation of current hydrographic information while also processing bathymetric and sonar data into usable products such as charts and databases. The results will be used by the Rijkswaterstaat to advise on measures to be taken to improve safety of shipping and on waterways.
