APEC’s 35th anniversary

APEC has seen rapid expansion during the past 15 years, training 12,800 port professionals from more than 150 countries.

APEC is the only European port related training institute to be recognised by the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs in China (SAFEA) and has trained some 3,000 Chinese maritime professionals.

APEC is a subsidiary of Antwerp Port Authority. It mainly offers three types of course: standard seminars, tailor-made seminars and courses held in other countries. The training centre has 12 permanent members of staff and five ad hoc trainers. In addition it is able to call on 15 or so port experts for foreign seminars and is able to obtain input from 400 or so lecturers or companies in the public and private sectors.
