Appointment to ICE Council
Dr Jane Smallman, managing director at UK based HR Wallingford, has been appointed to the Council of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE).
“I’m looking forward to bringing my leadership, management, business and strategic planning skills to the ICE Council, promoting innovation as a key theme for the profession,” Dr Smallman said.
“I want to contribute to the development of the Institution’s strategy so that it reflects today’s vibrant, modern and international civil engineering profession. It will be my aim to encourage greater diversity in our profession, and to maximise our use of talented people from across the industry.”
Dr Smallman was previously admitted as a Fellow of the Institution in 2008. Her three year term as a General Member will begin on 4 November 2014.
HR Wallingford is an independent engineering and environmental hydraulics organisation which specialises in practical solutions to complex water-related challenges.
