Boskalis Grows Again
Dutch dredging industry giant Royal Bosklis Westminster nv has acquired the dredging fleet of Finnish company Wasa Dredging Oy. The Wasa staff of some 30 employees will join Terramare Oy, the Finnish home market subsidiary of Boskalis.
Trinity House is funded from Light Dues levied on commercial shipping in some of the busiest sea lanes in the world, at no expense to the taxpayer. The revenue provides for nearly 600 aids to navigation ranging from lighthouses, buoys and beacons to the latest satellite navigation technology.
The acquisition strengthens Boskalis’ position in Northern Europe with specialist fleet and knowledge of hard soil treatment.
