Broadband for WFSVs
(UK) SELEX Elsag, a Finmeccanica company, has launched a new OceanLink Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) satellite communications capability.
Primarily aimed at the commercial fishing industry and offshore renewable energy support operators around the UK and North Sea area, OceanLink60 and OceanLink80 gives vessel owners and operators in these sectors the ability to have ‘always-on’ broadband internet and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) calls available at a low, fixed monthly cost, which is a key demand in this highly competitive market sector.
