Aker/Damen Joint Venture
Aker Yards and the Damen Shipyards Group are planning to establish a joint venture owning the Damen Shipyards Okean yard at Mykolayiv in the Ukraine.
The old uniform had changed little over the course of 100 years and was close to the hearts of many lock keepers, who had worn it all their working lives on the river.
The plans will contribute to an increased capacity or Aker Yards, as the Okean facility is able to build steel sections for ships from all three business areas of Aker Yards as well as the existing Damen range of vessels.
