Deme develops
Belgian dredging and land reclamation major Deme Concessions has entered into a partnership with Nordsee Offshore MEG I to co-develop the MEG I offshore wind farm in the German North Sea.
MEG I will be one of Germany’s largest offshore wind farms and is located in the German Bight, circa 45 km north of Borkum. This 400MW project will provide renewable energy to over one million people and realises a reduction of 1.5 million tons of CO2 emissions every year.
Deme will participate in the further development of the wind farm until financial close. Afterwards, Deme will be involved in the construction and maintenance of the wind farm and its long term funding.
Deme Concessions regroups all concessions of the Deme group in the field of dredging and land reclamation, offshore wind energy, wave and tidal energy and offshore mineral resources. Deme’s core business of dredging and land reclamation is supplemented by diversified activities that address different strategic drivers and future global challenges.
