Dredging at Sabetta

Belgium headquartered international dredging contractor Jan de Nul has completed the first phase of its dredging project at Sabetta port in Russia.

The dredging works at the port make up the first phase of the Yamal LNG project for which Sabetta will serve as a key element of the project in terms of transport infrastructure.

Jan de Nul deployed a dozen dredgers to take part in the first phase of the project, which included dredging for the new quays that will be receiving the large LNG plant process modules and construction material.

The port access channel and basin were also dredged so that Sabetta will be able to accommodate LNG carriers measuring 300m in length with a capacity of 170,000m3.
