Dudgeon windfarm electrical contract
Statoil and Statkraft subsidiary, Dudgeon Offshore Wind Ltd, has awarded the electrical system infrastructure contract for the new UK windfarm to Siemens Transmission and Distribution Ltd.
The contract covers engineering, procurement, construction and offshore hook-up of one onshore substation and one offshore substation including jacket foundation.
Dudgeon Offshore Windfarm is being developed 32 km north of Cromer off the coast of Norfolk, in the North Sea, England.
Siemens will have overall responsibility for connecting the windfarm up to the 400kV national Grid network in Necton. Transmission capacity will be above 400MW and include transformation from 33/132/400kV.
The company will run the project from Manchester, UK, while the jacket and topside for the offshore substation will be built at a UK yard. The electrical system infrastructure will be finalised at the windfarm in 2016.
