Dutch vessels supplied with Brouwer systems
The new Oceanic, which boasts the ability to transport twice the amount of wind turbine parts for the same cost as many other 3,000 tonne vessels, has sophisticated monitoring systems.
Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology designed, engineered and installed the entire electrical systems for Oceanic, built by Hartman Marine Shipbuilding.
The 2,978 gt vessel, the first of three new builds in the Hartman M² Runner series, will be used for transportation in the offshore sector for shipping company, Global Seatrade.
Marble Automation, a subsidiary of Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology, delivered the alarm and monitoring system onboard Oceanic. The system monitors the tank – tank tables are entered into the Marble system to ensure accurate readings are produced.
The Marble system also reads the alarms and values of the vessel’s Wärtsilä engine via the Ethernet. All vital items can then be seen on the touch screen. In addition, the Marble system is also responsible for controlling and operating the bow and stern thrusters.
Brouwer has also supplied a Marble system for a second Dutch vessel built by KD Workboats, theGuardian, the world’s first commercial vessel with a gyro-stabilising system.
