Dutch Workboats crew tender

Netherlands-based Dutch Workboats has widened its range of commercial craft by introducing a new fast crew tender design and a range of support boats. These are aimed at contractors and dredger operators who need to transfer crews and workmen from place to place around a work site but the designs can also be adapted for use as patrol boats and harbour duties.

The boat can accept single or twin outboard or inboard diesels

They are designed for operations on inshore and coastal waters and a push bow allows them to operate as mini-tugs. The crew tender designs are based on an 8 metre hull constructed from high density polyethylene (HDPE) with a shallow vee to give good load carrying performance. The interior layout can be varied to suit the application but as a basic crew tender there would be double rows of individual seats allowing up to 10 people to be carried. A patrol boat version could have a T-top and when used for dive support or as a stand by/security vessel the numbers could be reduced but the T-top or an enclosed wheelhouse retained. The whole concept is to make the design as flexible as possible.

It is the same for the propulsion and boat can accept single or twin outboard or inboard diesels. The latter are coupled to Alamarin water jets and with the maximum 450 hp diesel engine fast speeds are possible. A wide variety of optional equipment such as dive ladder and electronics can be fitted.

The smaller 5.5 and 6.5 support boats are outboard powered with a central control console. These are also constructed from HDPE and are designed for a four man crew and offer speeds up to 35 knots.
