Ferry build spec

The vessel will operate on the established cross harbour route between Portsmouth and Gosport in the UK. It is anticipated to come into operation in 2014 and will be comparable in size to the company’s existing fleet, including the 32m Spirit of Gosport, which has the capacity for up to 300 passengers.

Gosport Ferry recently conducted a survey of a thousand customers and feedback on the current amenities will be incorporated in the new ferry which will include more modern facilities and better bicycle storage, for example.

Mike Simpson, director of Houlder’s marine design consultancy business said, “Our experience in ferry design combined with their commitment to enhanced public transport means the new vessel will benefit our local community.”
