Ferry fleet expansion

Trasmapi has purchased a third fast ferry to join its growing fleet. The acquisition of the 86m long wave piercing flagship catamaran Incat 045 follows the delivery of HSC Fairweather and HSC Chenega.

Rafael Cardona, general manager of Trasmapi, is looking forward to welcoming Incat 45 to the fleet in a time of recovery from the pandemic. “There is nothing better than facing new times developing our business plan while we await the progressive recovery of the sector, with new business opportunities. That is why we strive to continuously improve services to our customers, with new additions to our fleet,” he said.

Capable of over 40 knots

Formerly Condor Ferries-owned English Channel high speed craft Condor Rapide, Incat 045 was built by Incat Tasmania in Hobart, Australia. The vessel has a beam of 26m and four Ruston RK270 engines that give her a top speed of over 40 knots.

Onboard, there is spacious and comfortable accommodation on two decks for up to 900 passengers, while the vehicle decks can carry up to 200 cars.

HSC Fairweather and HSC Chenega are currently on their way from Ketchikan, Alaska to Ibiza via the Panama Canal onboard the heavy lift ship Red Zed 1. Incat 045 has left her former home port in Poole, United Kingdom and will soon arrive at Vigo, Spain.

Trasmapi is the trading name of Sercomisa, – Servicios y Concesiones Maritimas Ibicencas SA, and belongs to Insotel Group, a family-owned company based in Ibiza.
