Fleet Broadband First
The Royal Netherlands Navy has been the first customer in the world to have a Thrane & Thrane SAILOR-500 Fleet Broadband terminal installed and commissioned with an activated simcard.
In it, the Raymarine YJA Yachtsman of the Year for 2004 expresses gratitude for this book about sailing’s inventors and innovations, which gave him, a man who had spent much of his life ‘messing about in boats’, a new insight into the history of his sport.
Radio Holland performed the installation and commissioning on board ‘MOV Van Kinsbergen’, also integrating the terminal with an AmosConnect email system. The installation is part of a field test of the new maritime broadband service.
