French Ports Re-Launch
French port authorities have briefed unions and staff on government plans to ‘ re-launch’ French ports, with a key objective being to transfer the manning and maintenance of cranes and gantries to private stevedoring companies, leaving the ‘ landlord’ port authorities to focus on non-cargo handling activities such as infrastructure development and overland connectivity.
In it, the Raymarine YJA Yachtsman of the Year for 2004 expresses gratitude for this book about sailing’s inventors and innovations, which gave him, a man who had spent much of his life ‘messing about in boats’, a new insight into the history of his sport.
Feedback from consultations will be evaluated on a national basis this month, after which draft legislation will be presented to parliament.
