Great Island Challenge

Adventurers are being sought to participate in the Great Island Challenge, which takes place on 9-12 May in aid of the seafaring charity Seafarers UK.

In it, the Raymarine YJA Yachtsman of the Year for 2004 expresses gratitude for this book about sailing’s inventors and innovations, which gave him, a man who had spent much of his life ‘messing about in boats’, a new insight into the history of his sport.

Based on and around the Isle of Wight, participants will have the opportunity to learn to crew a yacht then sail around the island then cycle around its 62 miles of hilly coastline. Each team of six people will be asked to raise £5,000 which will be used to support those in need from the maritime community. For further information contact lee.dobbins@seafarers-uk.org
