Halyard and Sabre Join Forces
Two UK south coast marine manufacturers who have been working closely together for seven years have joined forces, with exhaust systems specialists Halyard purchasing Sabre Fabrications. Sabre, to be renamed Halyard Fabrications Ltd, produces the stainless steel exhaust components used in Halyard systems.
The order follows Fast Engineering’s participation in a Trade Partners UK sponsored exhibit at the recent Major Incident Disaster Management Conference in Fukuoka, Japan.
The remarkable buoyancy of the yachting market despite the crashing dotcoms and terrorist attacks of the past year sees Halyard’s order book up by a steady 7.5%. The Sabre acquisition takes Halyard system manufacture entirely in-house and forms the basis for an expansion expected to see both companies increase staffing levels by 25% over the next two years.
