Hamilton Jet power for new Bourbon FSIV

The Bourbon Sirocco is the first of a new series of waterjet propelled offshore crew/support boat designed with a wave-piercing bow. The vessel has been designed in France, by Piriou Ingénierie, and built by the Piriou Group’s Vietnamese shipyard, South East Asia Shipyard (SEAS).

Steve Hines, general manager, Hamilton Jet Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), explained that the vessel utilises a DP2 system to control the waterjets and bow thrusters for precise station keeping.

Mr Hines said to Maritime Journal: “By making best use of its global presence, Hamilton Jet, through its regional sales offices and international distributor network, has successfully supported the project from the initial design and procurement phases in Europe into the construction and commissioning phases in Asia. The vessel, now operating in West Africa, will continue to be supported by Hamilton Jet through its strengthened African service network.”

In line with its expansion into the African market, Hamilton Jet has recently appointed approved service agents for the region. Stone Marine Services Ltd of Walvis Bay, Namibia, will be responsible for West Africa, and Seascape Marine Services PTY Ltd of Cape Town, South Africa, which will be responsible for East and West Africa.

Hamilton Jet will be back once again exhibiting at Seawork International 2013 in June, during which it will be promoting its entire range of jets, which have power rating capability up to 5500kw.
